CEO Wants Students Prioritize Education
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Cape Mount County Correspondent

R0BERTSPORT, May 30 (LINA) - Grand Cape Mount County Education Officer (CEO), Dwight Harvey, has called on Liberian students to subordinate social activities to their pursuit of education.

He observed that attaining quality education will enable them to assume leadership roles and contribute to the reconstruction of the country in the aftermath of 14 years of civil conflict.

He said it was regrettable that today’s students prioritize social activities, rather than their education which could make them meaningful and productive future leaders.

CEO Harvey made the call recently at the Robertsport High school during a meeting with 12th graders of the school.

He said it will be impossible to achieve reconstruction when the youths, who should be fully involved in the process, are not educated.

He said in order for Cape Mount to regain its pre-war educational status, students who sat this year’s West African Examination Council (WAEC) tests should come out with flying colors.

He thanked school administrators, principals, teachers and parents for their support to learning institutions in the county.
