Maryland Superintendent Calls On Police To Raid Ghettoes
By John Bropleh, LINA Maryland County Correspondent

HARPER, May 29 (LINA) -The acting Superintendent of Maryland County, Nathaniel Toe, has called on the county detachment of the Liberia National Police to raid all ghettos in an attempt to reduce crime in the county.

Superintendent Toe said these ghettoes harbor hardened criminals who perpetrate crimes against peaceful citizens.

He made the call Tuesday at the Harper City Hall during a meeting intended to discuss the visit of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to the county in June.

Toe commended the newly-assigned county police commander, Chief Superintendent David Walker, for his hard work since assuming leadership of the detachment two months ago.

He made specific reference to the recent role Walker played in helping to restore peace between the peoples of Gbololu in Maryland County and Nimieh in Grand Kru County.
