Police, Community Dialogue On Crime In Sanniquellie
By Wellington Patrick, LINA Nimba County CorrespondentSANNIQUELLIE, May 28 (LINA) -A one-day quarterly dialogue on police and community relationship in fighting crime has ended at the Women Center in Sanniquellie, Nimba County.
The program officer of the Special Emergency Activity to Restore Children’s Hope (SEARCH), Rochefort Vankan, told journalists that the community has a responsibility to report criminals as a way of helping the security fight crime in the society.
The facilitator of the workshop, Roosevelt Sackor of the Search for Common Ground, said irrespective of locality and physical disability, every individual ought not to view police as an enemy.
The forum was organized by SEARCH in partnership with Search for Common Ground and funding from the Swedish Government.
It was attended by Charles Lawrence, the National Program Officer for Democratic Governance, Human Rights Officer at the Swedish Embassy, Morris Temah, Police commander of Nimba, a proxy of the Superintendent of Nimba County, civil society organizations, youths and students.
