Poor Logistics Hampering Gbarpolu Security, Says Official
By Emmanuel Mondaye, LINA Gbarpolu County Correspondent

BOPOLU CITY, May 23 (LINA) – Gbarpolu County Project Development Officer Stephen S. Guzeh says the lack of adequate logistics is hampering the operations of the security sector in Gbarpolu County.

Mr. Guzeh observed that the security apparatus needs to be proactive in tracking down unscrupulous individuals who are using the county as a transit point for dangerous drugs and other substances.

Mr. Guzeh made the assertion recently when he spoke at the formal opening of the May Term of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Gbarpolu County.

Mr. Guzeh said while he applauds the security for the level of work being done, it was necessary that the joint security be more effective and efficient, noting that they should not compromise the security of the county by failing to arrest drug dealers and traffickers.

He indicated that if security is compromised, the county will continue to remain vulnerable to illegal drug traffickers.

Meanwhile, Guzeh is appealing to government to increase the budgetary allotment of the judiciary to motivate judges and clerical staff working in the rural parts of the country to be more effective in the performance of their duties.

He said justice can only be enhanced when better incentives are provided the Judiciary, adding that “without justice, there can be no peace and development.”

He is, however, commending judges and judicial clerical staff in rural Liberia for the sacrifices they are making to ensure that justice is given to all, irrespective of tribe or creed.
