HARPER, May 22 (LINA) - Maryland County Senator John Ballout has warned that individuals who attempt to disrupt the peace and security between Liberia and Ivory Coast will be arrested and prosecuted by the Liberian Government.
Senator Ballout said the two sisterly countries have a long-standing relationship that has made their citizens to peacefully co-exist.
The Maryland County Senior Senator sounded the warning Wednesday in Harper at the opening of a one-day peace and security meeting of the Mano River Union between Liberia and Ivory Coast.
The meeting, the second in a series, brought together county officials of Maryland, headed by acting Superintendent Nathaniel Toe and an Ivorian delegation headed by Tabou District Superintendent Katou Arsene.
They discussed cross-border security and trade, among others.
In remarks, the Tabou District Superintendent expressed satisfaction for the meeting which, he said, will help from time to time to keep the two countries and their peoples at peace.
