Fuamah Commissioner Urges Unity Among Youths
By Ballah Kollie, LINA Bong County Correspondent

HAINDII, May 15 (LINA) - Fuamah District Commissioner Hampton B. Giddings has decried the high level of disunity among youths of the district.

He said since the 2011 presidential and legislative elections, youths continue to remain divided on party lines, a situation, he said, has seriously hampered development in the district.

Commissioner Giddings told the Liberia News Agency recently in Haindii, Bong County that while he has over the period worked to ensure oneness among citizens, some losers of the 13 candidates featured in the 2011 elections continue to fuel division.

He wants the district’s youth population to put aside their political differences and work in the common interest of the district.

Fuamah and parts of Sanoyea constitute Electoral District #7 in Bong County and were in the 2011 election bitterly fought over by 13 contenders, including incumbent Corpu G. Barclay, who won a second term.

Meanwhile, the Fuamah District Commissioner has lauded the management of China Union for bringing to standard the district main road that runs from Kakata to the banks of the St. Paul River.

Though lauding the road condition and improvements made in the education sector, Commissioner Giddings still sees health care, employment and the delivery of some basic social services as areas the company must improve.

He wants the company to instruct its engineering department to collaborate with residents to open water cannels as the camp is often flooded due to blockage of existing drainages.
