Body of Late Bishop Dalieh Arrives In Maryland

HARPER, May 15 (LINA) -The remains of the late Bishop Emeritus of the Cape Palmas Diocese of the Catholic Church of Liberia, Bishop Boniface Nyema Dalieh, has arrived in Harper, Maryland County.

Bishop Dalieh died April 25, 2014 in the United States of America following a brief illness.

The body was met on arrival Wednesday by the Priest-in-Charge of the Cape Palmas Diocese, Monsignor Melvin Ntanti Gaye, Vicar General of the Cape Palmas Diocese.

It was immediately escorted through Maryland Avenue to the St. Theresa Cathedral, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16.

According to Catholic Church sources, the body will be buried on Friday, following the funeral service.

A cross-section of sympathizers from Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria and the United States of America are presently in Harper to attend the funeral.

A requiem mass was held in Monrovia for Biahop Dalieh at the Sacred Heart Cathedral upon arrival of the body in Liberia.
