Kakata City Police Officer Disrobed, Arrested
By Richard Baysah, LINA Margibi County Correspondent

KAKATA, May 15 (LINA) - An officer of the Kakata City Police Force has been disrobed and sent to court for prosecution for alleged drug use and unethical behavior incompatible with his status as a law enforcement officer.

Acting Kakata City Mayor Eddie Zubah Murphy disclosed this in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Wednesday in Kakata.

According to the acting City Mayor, Officer Moses Brown was disrobed following an emergency session of the City Council.

Mayor Murphy accused Brown of drunkenness and extortion of money and confiscation of goods from street sellers.

He explained that Officer Brown was caught in the ghetto fully uniformed smoking marijuana with civilians when he was arrested by officers of the Liberia National Police in Kakata.

Mayor Murphy recalled that prior to the reactivation of the Kakata City Police, he warned officers against acts that will bring the force into public disrepute and that any officers caught in these acts would be dealt with in keeping with the law.
