Cape Mount County Attorney Warns Jurors Against Bribery
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Cape Mount Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, May 12(LINA) - Grand Cape Mount County Attorney, Abraham Simpson, has warned that any juror caught receiving bribe to compromise cases will be arrested and prosecuted according to law.

Simpson made the statement Monday in remarks at the formal opening of the May Term of the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County.

He said it is expected of would-be jurors to perform their duty with decency, honesty and commitment so that free and fair decisions will be rendered in the dispensation of justice by the court.

He then admonished those who have taken their cases to court to follow-up by testifying against those they have sued.

Speaking earlier, Resident Circuit Judge Amy Musu Jones admonished potential jurors to refrain from any act that has the propensity to undermine the judicial process.

Judge Jones said the Constitution of Liberia must be fully respected by all Liberians in an effort to promote a fair justice system.

She wants citizens to refrain from lawlessness as they support their candidates and avoid tarnishing the image and reputation of other candidates during the upcoming Mid-Term Senatorial Election in October.
