Court Charges District Commissioner With “Terroristic Threats”

TUBMANBURG, May 12 (LINA) - The Magisterial Court in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, has charged Senjeh District Commissioner James K. Tarpeh, with “obstructing public highway, ferocious restraint and terroristic threats.”

According to the charge sheet, Commissioner Tarpeh, on February 8, 2014, restrained and obstructed the movement of citizens by blocking the road with sticks and other instruments.

The charge sheet said Tarpeh deprived complainants Hars Armstrong and others of the use of the public highway on Sackie Motor Road.

The charge sheet issued on April 23, 2014 said defendant Tarpeh obstructed the movement of the complainants by using cutlasses and sticks.

The charge sheet further said the actions of Tarpeh and others were contrary to the statute as provided for in the statutory laws of the Republic of Liberia.
