By Korboi Gbelewala
ZORZOR, May 10 (LINA) - Citizens of Buluyeama Clan in Zorzor District, Lofa County are for the first benefiting from a feeder road being constructed by the logging company ECOWOOD.
The feeder road project started in 2013 as part of an agreement signed in 2012 under which the company agreed to construct farm-to-market roads and schools in the clan.
The road construction has already reached Barneda, an area behind Balagualazo Town in Buluyeama Clan.
Disclosing this to the Liberia News Agency recently in Balagualazo Town, the General Town Chief of Buluyeama Clan, Zubah Kollie, said the construction of the road will improve economic and social services in the clan.
Chief Kollie pointed out that the people of Buluyeama Clan have suffered too long for access road, noting that the time has come for them to benefit from resources reserved by their forefathers for so many years.
He disclosed to LINA that due to lack of a road network, citizens of the area transport the sick in hammocks, with several dying while being taken to faraway clinics for treatment.
Meanwhile, Oldman Kollie is urging citizens to assist in the implementation of the project by providing food and manpower, noting that the project was in the best interest of the people of Buluyeama Clan.
