Culture Minister Pats Egypt For Arts Festival

MONROVIA, May 8 (LINA) -Assistant Information Minister for Culture, Mrs. Louise W. McMillan, has commended the  Egyptian Government for hosting  the just-ended International Festival for Drums and Traditional Arts.She said the event was held under the theme: ‘Drums, Dialogue for Peace’ from 19-25 April, 2014.

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency at the Ministry of Information in Monrovia Thursday, Mrs. McMillan, who led the Liberian delegation to the festival, praised the National Cultural Troupe for its tremendous performance.

She said the cultural troupe performed at several locations, including the historic Salah El-Din Citadel (Castle) and the Opera House in Cairo.

According to Mrs. McMillan, the Troupe was also invited by Alexander H.N. Wallace III, Liberia’s Ambassador to Egypt, on 23 April at his residence for a dinner performance, which was attended by several Ambassadors and Egyptian government officials.
