MONROVIA, Jan 7 (LINA) – Bong County Assistant Superintendent for Development, Anthony Sheriff, has said the security presence and overall security situation in the country is ‘satisfactory’.
He said with the number of officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP), backed by officers of the United Nations Police (UNPOL) assigned in the county, the security environment is appreciable.
“With the presence of LNP officers and UNPOL, we usually stay out up to early morning, fearing nothing because we know that we are fully protected,” Sheriff noted.
Bong County is among others, including Montserrado, Margibi and Lofa that boast of adequate security manpower.
Meanwhile, Assistant Superintendent Sheriff has appealed to Government and international partners to empower the county’s Fire Service by providing it with fire trucks and other fire-fighting equipment.
He said the lack of equipment poses danger to the lives and property of residents in the event of a fire incident.
