By David Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent

TUBMANBURG, May 3 (LINA) – The Director of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCOR), Region, III, Mr. John N. Campbell, is urging companies and businesses to provide the corporation the actual salaries of their employees.

Speaking to the Liberia News Agency in an interview on in Tubmanburg recently, Campbell said NASSCORP has the authority to seek legal remedy if it is proven that some employers understate the salaries of their employees.

He said to safeguard the interests of the employer, employee and NASSCORP, the employer is required to make available the payroll of the entity.

Campbell said the salaries of the employees determine their benefits, noting that the higher the salaries, the better the benefits.

He said it is the salaries of employees presented to NASSCORP that enable NASSCORP to calculate the deduction from employees.

The director said the corporation will shortly dispatch a team to Gbarpolu and Grand Cape Mount counties to register companies operating there.

Meanwhile, Mr. Campbell is urging the employees in the region to provide the NASSCORP with information of companies planning to evade the registration process or understate the employees’ salaries.

He said it is in the interest of the employees and it will help the corporation to “engage the company about things they think we do not know.”
