MONROVIA, Dec 19 (LINA) – Lands, Mines and Energy Minister Patrick Sendolo says government has targeted 13 communities in and around Monrovia for power supply as part of its electrification plan.
According to Minister Sendolo, the exercise will run for four months.
The beneficiary communities are Logan Town, St. Paul Bridge, Doe Community, Vai Town, Clara Town, JFK, Soniwein, Fiama, Duport Road- Benson Hospital, Duport Road-Rehab, ELWA, Twelve Houses and A.B Tolbert Road.
According to the Lands and Mines boss, Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) workers will target and electrify houses in these communities that are about 1,500 feet from the transformer.
He said those wanting connection should first complete the LEC Electrification Form and pay a registration fee of US$50.
The electrification exercise of the 13 communities is in response to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf’s mandate to LEC to electrify at least 1,000 homes monthly.
