MONROVIA, Dec. 19 (LINA) -The former leader of the Liberty Party, Charles Brumskine has urged Liberians to sustain the 10 years of peace being enjoyed under the leadership of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Counselor Brumskine noted that as a post-conflict nation that witnessed many years of chaos, it is important to keep the country and people on course to drive their common patrimony forward.
Counselor Brumskine made the statement Wednesday when he spoke to reporters on the grounds of the Executive Mansion during programs marking the lighting of the National Christmas Tree in Monrovia.
He praised God for the peace granted Liberia and its people under the leadership of President Sirleaf, pointed out that Liberians should consider themselves blessed and hold together in transforming the country.
According to him, the country will experience lasting peace, prosperity and economic growth when Liberians co-exist peacefully regardless of their differences.
Counselor Brumskine further lauded President Sirleaf for the able manner in which she is steering the affairs of the state in the face of challenges occasioned by the 14-year civil unrest.
