By Johnson Liway, LINA Grand Bassa County Correspondent

BUCHANAN, April 23 (LINA) - Citizens of Kpowein in District # 4, Grand Bassa County, have petitioned Senate President Pro-Tempore,  Milton Gbehzongar Findley, to seek re-election in the Mid-Term Senatorial Election slated for October 14.

Presenting the petition in Little Kola, District # 4,the citizens said the decision was based on Senator Findley’s numerous contributions to the Liberian society and the people of Bassa, in particular.

“This (petition) is based on your continuing and tireless development contributions to Bassa in the areas of infrastructure and human resource development,” said the petition read by Solomon Barchue, an elder of the district, during a program held last Saturday.

The citizens said Senator Findley was instrumental in the formation of the Grand Bassa Community College and the provision of scholarships to less fortunate students of Bassa and other counties.

Responding, Senator Findley accepted the petition and said when re-elected he will focus on the education of the youth and construction of a 100-bed hospital in the county.

He vowed to provide more scholarships to deserving students and empower the men and women of Bassa to be productive citizens for the benefit of their county and country.
