UNMIL Ghanaian Battalion Donates Drugs to Voinjama Prison
By Korboi Gbelewala, LINA Lofa County Correspondent

VOINJAMA, April 23 (LINA) -The United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) Ghanaian Battalion 19 in Voinjama, Lofa County has donated a consignment of assorted drugs to the Voinjama Central Prison.

The Ghanaian contingent did not disclose the value of the drugs, nor did they specify the drugs donated because “it is a humanitarian gesture.”

Making the donation at the prison Wednesday, Major Idan Patience, Commander of the Ghanaian Contingent, said the gesture was their way of identifying with inmates at the prison.

Receiving the drugs, the Deputy Prison Superintendent, Moses Saah, thanked the Ghanaian contingent for the donation and promised that the drugs would be used for the intended purpose.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Saah has meanwhile appealed for more logistic support to the prison.
