Water, Sanitation Facilities For Buchanan
By Johnson Liway, LINA Grand Bassa Correspondent

BUCHANAN, April 19 (LINA) – Residents of Buchanan will shortly begin to enjoy pipe-borne water and sanitation facilities under a project to be funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC).

Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency on Thursday, Grand Bassa Assistant Superintendent for Development, Adonie Z. Greaves, said the county administration has attended working sessions for the project in Lofa, Cape Mount, Nimba and Monrovia.

Mr. Greaves said engineers from the LWSC will arrive in Buchanan in early May to commence both the water and sanitation projects.

He informed residents of Buchanan who have built structures around the Water and Sewer Corporation facilities to get ready to vacate the premises for implementation of the AfDB project.

He said when implemented, users will be charged a minimum amount for the service and that the city will be divided into segments to ensure that the citizens take control of their project.

He did not disclose the cost or the AfDB project.
