ROBERTSPORT, April 16 (LINA) - The Commissioner of the Township of Mano River Bo-Waterside in Tewor District, Grand Cape Mount County has appealed for farming implements to assist farmers in the area increase food production.
Commissioner Clarissa Passawe said providing the farmers with the requisite tools will help boost government’s food self-sufficiency program, reduce hunger and generate income for the farmers.
She told the Liberia News Agency (LINA) recently in Tewor District that the lack of farming implements, seedlings and fertilizers was impeding high yields from crops planted by farmers, something, she said, was discouraging farmers from large scale cultivation.
Commissioner Passawe said to ensure self-sufficiency in food production, there was need for the citizens to be motivated for mass participation in agriculture.
